MEET SAIDA
Saida is the author of A Song of Her Own. She writes fiction across categories, with children’s fiction as her first love.
Born and raised in nomadic Somalia, Saida learned to read as a teenager after immigrating to the United States. That experience plays a meaningful role in her life and creative work. She credits her love of storytelling to her nomadic upbringing, the rich oral traditions in her family, and the life changing discovery of reading as a teenager.
Saida is the founder of Iftin Ink, an emerging small press dedicated to publishing meaningful books across categories.
